BIO: Matilda KECK is shown on the 1880 census as 'wife' of Matthew C. KECK; her age is given as '27.' Compiler did not have evidence of the maiden name of Matilda until Feb. 1999, when this family Data provided by the BRUBAKERs revealed the maiden name and the parents of 'the wife' of Matthew Coonrod KECK, b. 1849. This data also indicated that this couple had 9 children. Three of the sons were named--'Herman C., Spencer M. & Paris T.'--none of whom appeared in the Keck home on the 1880 census examined by compiler. Compiler suspects this data is lacking the evidence of a second marriage for Matthew C. KECK. He probably married 'Matilda' (Maiden name unknown) and the couple had at least four children. If Matthew did marry Rachel Melissa EDWARDS in 1903, as reported in the BRUBAKERs' data, this would have been a second marriage. This theory needs documentation, however.
