BIO: The middle initial of this son of 'Guider' KECK is uncertain. In some data he is listed as 'Matthew C.' and in other places he is 'Matthew E.' 'Guider' also had a brother whose name was Matthew; there may be some confusion in records between these two individuals. Matthew 'E.' is shown in the home of John and Rebecca in 1850 as one year of age (Oct. 1850); on the 1860 census, Matthew 'C.' is enumerated as 10 years old. Again listed as 'Matthew C.' in 1870, he is 21 and 'working on farm' in his father's household in 1870. The 1880 census shows 'Matthew C.', 30 years of age, as head of household #126 in ED #110 (page 15). His wife, Matilda, is 27; the couple has three young daughters and a son. The 'WFT' disk shows Matthew's middle name as 'Coonrod', probably an adaptation of 'Conrad', the name of Matthew's great grandfather, 'Coonrod' KECK.
