One record says that Elijah Stout, Sr. (s Joseph) m Mary Matthews, and their son, Elijah, Jr. m Elizabeth Turnham in Culpeper County, Virginia, 1791, and died in Shelby County Kentucky, 1846. Elijah, Sr. was in Woodford, 1800, and Elijah, Jr., on Craig's Creek at the same time, and both were in Shelby, 1806. Elijah and Ann sold land on the river, W 1808. The will of Elijah Stout (Jr?), Shelby 1846, names sons: 1, David; 2, Elijah, m Mrs Nancy Rice Cave, W 1826, and died in Owen 1845; 3, William; 4, Clagit, m Mary Utterback, W 1836; 5, Milton G., m Susan Utterback, W 1839; 6, John I. or J.

Sarah Stout (dau Elijah) m Joseph Hainds, W 1799. One Elijah was in Scott, 1801-1820.

Another branch of the family in Woodford descends from Amos Stout, who came from New Jersey and m Olivia Hicks (dau William and Bettie Harris Hicks), W 1817. They lived near Mt. Vernon Church, and their children were: 1, John, m Susan Bohannon, W 1844; 2, William, m Judith Jameson, W 1848(?); 3, Robert Hicks, m Fannie Gillespie, 1853, and they were the parents of Judge Robert Lee Stout; 4, Amos, Jr.

Samuel Stout m Martha Hancock, W 1800, and was in Henry, 1814; Randolph m Lucy Dale (dau Abraham), W 1807; Pilemon m Penelope Anderson (the bond signed by Andrew W.
